Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments appear to be a summary of the whole Bible. Notice in the verses shared below the need to understand these commands spiritually as they relate primarily to God's relationship with the CHURCH:

Ex 20:3 THOU shalt have no **other gods** before me.

De 6:14 Ye shall not go after **other gods, of the gods of the people** which are round about you;

Da 5:4 They drank wine, and praised the **gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone**.

Isa 36:20 Who are they among all the **gods of these lands**, that have delivered their land out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver JERUSALEM out of my hand?

Ex 32:4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, **These be thy gods**, O ISRAEL, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Na 1:14 And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of **thy gods** will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.

Jud 6:10 And I said unto you, I am the LORD your God; fear not **the gods of the Amorites**, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.

Zep 2:11 The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish **all the gods of the earth**; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

1Co 8:5 For though there be that are **called gods**, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

Ho 3:1 Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, who **look to other gods**, and love flagons of wine.

Ga 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto THEM which by nature **are no gods**.

Ex 20:4 THOU shalt not make unto thee any **graven image**, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Jer 51:47 Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the **graven images** of BABYLON: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.

Isa 21:9 And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, BABYLON is fallen, is fallen; and all the **graven images** of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

Mic 5:13 Thy **graven images** also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the WORK OF THINE HANDS.

Jer 50:38 A drought is upon HER WATERS; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of **graven images**, and they are mad upon their idols.

Jer 51:17 Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the **graven image**: for his molten image is FALSEHOOD, and there is no breath in them.

2Ch 34:7 And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the **graven images** into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the LAND OF ISRAEL, he returned to Jerusalem.

Isa 10:10 As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose **graven images** did excel them of JERUSALEM and of SAMARIA;

Re 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship THE BEAST and **his image**, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Ro 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an **image** made like to CORRUPTIBLE MAN, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the **image** of the EARTHY, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Ex 20:7 THOU shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God **in vain**; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Mt 15:9 But **in vain** THEY do worship **me**, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES the commandments OF MEN.

Ps 139:20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name **in vain**.

Pr 30:9 Lest I be full, and DENY THEE, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the **name of my God in vain <07723>**.

Ps 144:8 Whose MOUTH SPEAKETH **vanity <07723>**, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

Pr 30:8 Remove far from me **vanity <07723>** and LIES:

Isa 59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in **vanity, and SPEAK LIES <07723>; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Jer 18:15 Because MY PEOPLE hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to **vanity <07723>**, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up;

La 2:14 THY PROPHETS have seen **vain <07723>** and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee FALSE <07723> BURDENS and causes of banishment.

Eze 21:23 And it shall be unto them as a FALSE <07723> DIVINATION in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour IS NOT **in vain** in the Lord.

Ex 20:8 Remember the SABBATH day, to <<keep it HOLY>>.

Mt 12:8 For the SON OF MAN is LORD even of the SABBATH day.

Ex 16:23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the REST of the HOLY SABBATH unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

Mt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and <<I will give you REST>>.

Ex 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall <<keep the SABBATH>>, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

Ne 9:14 And <<madest known unto them thy HOLY SABBATH>>, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:

Ne 13:17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane <02490> the SABBATH day?

Le 22:32 Neither shall ye profane <02490> MY HOLY NAME; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the LORD which hallow you,

Eze 13:19 And will ye pollute <02490> ME among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?

Eze 36:20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned <02490> MY HOLY NAME, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.

Da 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute <02490> the SANCTUARY OF STRENGTH, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

Ex 20:12 **Honour** thy FATHER and thy MOTHER: that thy <<days may be long>> upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Joh 5:23 That all men should **honour** THE SON, even as they honour the FATHER. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

1Sa 2:30 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of THY FATHER, should **walk before** me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that **honour** ME I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

Mr 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people **honoureth** ME with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

Joh 8:49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I **honour** MY FATHER, and ye do **dishonor** ME.

Isa 43:20 The beast of the field shall **honour** ME, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

Jud 13:17-18 And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may **do thee honour**?... And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is SECRET (Wonderful)?

Pr 10:27 The **fear of the LORD** <<prolongeth days>>: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Ec 8:13 But it shall not be well with the wicked, <neither shall he prolong his days>, which are as a shadow; because he **feareth not** BEFORE GOD.

Jud 5:7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I DEBORAH arose, that I arose a MOTHER in Israel.

Ga 4:26 But JERUSALEM which is above is free, which is the MOTHER of us all.

Ex 20:13 **Thou** shalt not KILL.

1Jo 3:15 **Whosoever** hateth his brother is a MURDERER: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

Lu 6:22 Blessed are ye, when **men** shall hate you, and when they shall SEPARATE you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

Joh 16:2 **They** shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever KILLETH you will think that he doeth God service.

Isa 1:21 How is the **faithful city** become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now MURDERERS.

Re 18:24 And in **her** was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were SLAIN upon the earth.

Mt 23:35 That **upon you** may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye SLEW between the temple and the altar.

Mt 10:28 And fear not **them** which KILL THE BODY, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Re 13:10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: *He that KILLETH with the **sword** must be KILLED with the **sword**. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Jas 4:2 ** Ye** lust, and have not: ye KILL, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

Eze 34:3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, **ye** KILL them that are fed: but ye FEED NOT the flock.

Re 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the **beast** that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and KILL them.

Ex 20:14 **Thou** shalt not commit ADULTERY.

Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby **backsliding Israel** committed ADULTERY I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Jer 23:14 I have seen also in the **prophets of Jerusalem** an horrible thing: they commit ADULTERY, and WALK IN LIES: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

Jer 3:1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but **thou** hast PLAYED THE HARLOT with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.

Jas 4:4 Ye ADULTERERS and ADULTERESSES, know ye not that the friendship of **the world** is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Jer 7:9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit ADULTERY, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and WALK AFTER OTHER GODS whom ye know not;

Jer 29:23 Because they have committed villany in **Israel**, and have committed ADULTERY with their neighbours’ wives, and have spoken LYING WORDS IN MY NAME, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.

Jer 3:9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that **she** defiled the land, and committed ADULTERY with **stones and with stocks**.

Eze 16:32 But as a **wife** that committeth ADULTERY, which taketh strangers *instead of her husband*!

Isa 54:5 For thy Maker is *thine husband*; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

Re 2:22 Behold, I will cast **her** into a bed, and **them** that commit ADULTERY with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Ex 20:15 **Thou** shalt not STEAL.

Joh 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, **He** that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a THIEF and a ROBBER.

Joh 10:8 All that ever came before me are THIEVES and ROBBERS: but the sheep did not hear them.

Mt 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, **My house** shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of THIEVES.

Jer 7:11 Is this house, which is called by **my name**, become a den of ROBBERS in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

Joh 10:10 The **THIEF** cometh not, but for to STEAL, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Mt 26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are **ye** come out as against a THIEF with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

Ho 4:2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and STEALING, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

Joe 2:9 **They** shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a THIEF.

Job 24:14 The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a THIEF.

1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a THIEF in the night.

Ex 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
