Observing Times

Does the Church observe times by embracing false gospels in tribulation? Let's examine.

JUDGMENT: TURNING AGAIN TO THE BEGGARLY ELEMENTS IN TRIBULATION?

Ga 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service <1398> unto them which by nature are no gods.

Ga 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements <4747>, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage <1398>?

Ga 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage <1398> with her children.

Ga 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements <4747> of the world:

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments <4747> of the world, and not after Christ.

2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements <4747> shall melt with fervent heat?

OBSERVING TIMES: DIVINATION, WITCHCRAFT, SOOTHSAYING, ENCHANTMENTS – STATE OF THE CHURCH IN TRIBULATION?

Ga 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and TIMES, and years.

Le 19:26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times <06049>.

Jer 29:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners <07080>, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

Eze 13:9 And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine <07080> lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Eze 21:21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use <07080> divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.

Mic 3:6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine <07080>; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.

Jos 13:22 Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer <07080>, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.

Mic 3:7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners <07080> confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.

Jer 27:9 Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters <06049>, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:

De 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times <06049>, or an enchanter, or a witch <03784>,

Ex 7:12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.

2Ti 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Ex 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch <03784> to live.

Mal 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers <03784>, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

2Ch 33:6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times <06049>, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft <03784>, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

De 18:14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observer of times <06049>, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

2Ki 21:6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times <06049>, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

Isa 2:6 Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers <06049> like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.

Isa 57:3 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress <06049>, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.

Ac 16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

SALVATION: ELECT DO NOT OBSERVE TIMES OR USE DIVINATION

Nu 23:23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

Mic 5:12 And I will cut off witchcrafts <03785> out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers <06049>:

Eze 13:23 Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine <07080> divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

SUMMARY CONCLUSION:

The Bible appears to be equating observing times (days, months, years) to turning to the beggarly elements of false gods. This would seem to tie into the falling away of the church in tribulation by embracing false gospels. The unsaved body would also be known as soothsayers, sorcerers and those that use witchcraft or divine lies to deceive.

SIDE NOTE:

God likens the sun moon and stars as time keepers and they symbolically point to the unsaved church body. Is there an indirect connection that those who OBSERVE TIMES are spiritually worshipping the sun moon and stars?

Ge 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Ge 1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

De 4:19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
