Life of Solomon
Was Solomon Saved? Let's examine.
SOLOMON’S NAME (PEACE) SON OF DAVID: A TYPE OF CHRIST?
2Sa 12:24 And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name SOLOMON <08010> (Peace): and the LORD LOVED HIM.
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of PEACE.
1Th 5:23 And the very God of PEACE sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

SOLOMON’S WISDON: A TYPE OF CHRIST WHO WAS PRESENT IN THE CHURCH?
1Ki 5:12 And the LORD gave SOLOMON wisdom, as he promised him: and there was PEACE between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.
2Ch 1:11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked WISDOM and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
2Ch 9:23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of SOLOMON, to hear his WISDOM, that God had put in his heart.
Ec 2:9 So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also MY WISDOM remained with me.
Lu 2:52 And JESUS increased in WISDOM and stature, and in favour with God and man.
SOLOMON’S SINS: A TYPE OF THE FALLEN CORPORATE CHURCH?
1Ki 11:2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
Ne 13:26 Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was BELOVED of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish <05237> women <0802> cause to SIN.
1Ki 11:1 But king Solomon loved many strange <05237> women <0802>, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
1Ki 11:8 And likewise did he for all his strange <05237> wives <0802>, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
Ezr 10:10 And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange <05237> wives <0802>, to increase the trespass of Israel.
Ezr 10:11 Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and **separate yourselves** from the people of the land, and from the strange <05237> wives <0802>.
Nu 16:21 **Separate yourselves** from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
Mt 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall **separate them one from another**, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
Ne 13:27 Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange <05237> wives <0802>?
Pr 2:16 To deliver thee from the strange woman <0802>, even from the stranger <05237> which flattereth with her words;
Pr 6:24 To keep thee from the evil woman <0802>, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman <05237>.
Re 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast LEFT thy first love (Christ).
Eze 28:5 By thy GREAT WISDOM and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy RICHES, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy RICHES:
Ec 1:18 For in much WISDOM is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
Eze 28:4 With thy WISDOM and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
Eze 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy WISDOM by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
SOLOMON’S ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF SIN: PRAYER OF REPENTANCE – REDEMPTION OF THE CHURCH?
Ec 1:1 The words of the Preacher, the SON OF DAVID, king in Jerusalem.
Ec 1:2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; ALL IS VANITY.
Ec 2:17 Therefore I HATED LIFE; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
Ec 3:14 I KNOW that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
Ec 8:5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a WISE MAN’S heart discerneth both time and judgment.
Ec 2:9 So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also MY WISDOM remained with me.
Ec 8:12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which FEAR before him:
Ec 8:13 But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he FEARETH NOT before God.
Ec 11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee INTO JUDGMENT.
Ec 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: FEAR GOD, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ec 12:14 For God shall bring every work INTO JUDGMENT, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
So 1:1 The song of songs, which is SOLOMON’S.
So 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for THY LOVE is better than wine.
So 1:3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins LOVE THEE.

Ps 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to KNOW WISDOM (Christ).
SOLOMON’S BURIAL: SALVATION – A TYPE OF THE REDEEMED CHURCH?
Ro 6:4 Therefore we are BURIED with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Mt 8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the DEAD BURY their dead.
1Ki 2:10 So David slept with his fathers, and was BURIED in the city of David.
1Ki 11:43 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was BURIED in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

2Ch 32:33 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they BURIED him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.
1Ki 13:31 And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spake to his sons, saying, When I am dead, then BURY ME in the sepulchre wherein the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones:
Ge 50:25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall CARRY UP MY BONES from hence.
2Ch 21:20 Thirty and two years old was he (Jehoram) when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they BURIED him in the city of David, but NOT in the sepulchres of the kings.
2Ch 28:27 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem: but they brought him NOT into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
2Ch 24:25 And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him NOT in the sepulchres of the kings.
SUMMARY CONCLUSION
Considering ALL the language of the Bible regarding Solomon, I believe we can safely conclude that Solomon, like David were beloved of God (saved). Even though Solomon got into more trouble than David in his later years, God used both men, spiritually, as a type of the Church who bore the NAME of Christ but later fell away. And although the corporate body fell away, the Elect (Eternal Church) within the body are redeemed out of Babylon. This would include both David and Solomon.
