Every house is shut up
Is Matt 24:10 pointing to the great tribulation? Let's examine.
DESOLATION AND DESTRUCTION: TRIBULATION?
Isa 24:10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.
Isa 24:11 There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.
Isa 24:12 In the city is left desolation <08047>, and the gate is smitten with destruction.
2Ch 29:8 Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment <08047>, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.
Ps 73:19 How are they brought into desolation <08047>, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
Isa 54:8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
Jer 4:7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate <08047>; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
La 1:4 The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.

SHUT UP: DO THE WICKED SHUT THE DOOR IN TRIBULATION?
Isa 24:10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up <05462>, that NO MAN may come in.
Eze 44:2 Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and NO MAN shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut <05462>.
Mal 1:10 Who is there even among you that would shut <05462> the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
Ob 1:14 Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up <05462> those of his that did remain in the day of distress.

Jer 13:19 The cities of the south shall be shut up <05462>, and none shall open them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.
Mt 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Jas 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
Jas 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
DOOR/GATE NOT SHUT: SALVATION OF THE BODY?
Isa 60:10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.
Isa 60:11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.
Isa 45:1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
Ne 13:19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
Re 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
SUMMARY CONCLUSION
The Bible appears to be equating every house being shut up to the great tribulation. Time when God forsook the church and allowed the wicked in the body to SHUT the door in that they held the elect captive. But at the revelation of Christ, God opened the door/gates (Christ) to bring back their captivity; elect coming out of Babylon.
