Salt

Does the Bible associate SALT with Christ? Let's examine.

SALT: CHRIST AND HIS BODY PRIOR TO TRIBULATION AND JUDGMENT?

Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Da 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

Nu 18:19 All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the LORD, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the LORD unto thee and to thy seed with thee.

2Ch 13:5 Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

2Co 2:16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

TRIBULATION: SALT HAS LOST ITS SAVOUR (CHRIST) AND ABILITY TO SEASON?

Mr 9:50 Salt is good (Christ is good?): but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt (Christ?) in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

Lu 14:35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

1Co 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish <3471> the wisdom of this world?

JUDGMENT: SALT IS NOW GOOD FOR NOTHING AND TRODDEN UNDER FOOT?

SUMMARY CONCLUSION

The Bible appears to be associating Salt with Christ. A covenant of salt would be a covenant of grace (salvation). Salt is good as long as it does not lose its savour; which appears to be the case with the church in tribulation. At that point the salt is no longer good to season anything and is to be trodden under foot; God’s judgment on babylon.
