Loving God
Does Loving God point to the Church being Faithful in declaring His Word? Let's examine.
LOVING GOD: BEING FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD?
De 6:5 And thou shalt LOVE the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Joh 14:15 If ye LOVE ME, keep my commandments.
Ro 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that LOVE GOD, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
De 19:9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to LOVE the LORD thy God, and to WALK ever in his ways (Christ); then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the WAY, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
1Jo 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love (Christ is LOVE?).
1Jo 5:3 For this is the LOVE OF GOD, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
THE COMMANDMENTS: LOVE IS HIGHLIGHTED MORE?
Ex 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Ex 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,
Ex 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain;
Ex 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Ex 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother:
Ex 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Ex 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Ex 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
Ex 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Ex 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house,
LOVING THE BRETHREN: FORGIVING BY BEING FAITHFUL TO THE WORD OF GOD?
Le 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
1Jo 4:20 If a man say, I LOVE God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
1Jo 5:2 By this we know that we LOVE the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
De 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye LOVE the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
LOSING THE LOVE FOR GOD: CHURCH IN TRIBULATION?
Re 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first LOVE.
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Mt 24:11-12 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many… And because iniquity shall abound, the LOVE of many shall wax cold.
Joh 12:25 He that LOVETH his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Lu 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Mt 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
1Jo 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man LOVE the world, the LOVE OF THE FATHER is not in him.
SUMMARY CONCLUSION
The Bible appears to be equation loving God to Keeping His commandments. And because the commandments are spiritual, they relate primarily to the Church remaining faithful to God’s Word. As long as Christ (LOVE) was in the midst, God cared for the body. But in tribulation, the church lost its love for God and for this God brought judgment on the body.
