Ascending and Descending

Judgment and Salvation: Could "DESCENDING" be a reference to the Fall of Babylon?

Ge 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder <05551> set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ASCENDING and DESCENDING on it.

Joh 1:51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ASCENDING and DESCENDING upon the <Son of man>.

Ex 9:17 As yet exaltest <05549> thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?

Job 19:12 His troops come together, and raise up <05549> their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.

Job 30:12 Upon [my] right [hand] rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up <05549> against me the ways of their destruction.

TOP REACHING TO HEAVEN: SIN OF THE CHURCH IN TRIBULATION?

Ge 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the TOP OF IT REACHED TO HEAVEN: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

Ge 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose TOP [may REACH] UNTO HEAVEN; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

2Ch 28:9 But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name [was] Oded: and he went out before the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because the LORD God of your fathers was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a RAGE [that] REACHETH UP UNTO HEAVEN.

Jer 51:9 We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment REACHETH UNTO HEAVEN, and is lifted up [even] to the skies.

Da 4:20 The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height REACHED UNTO THE HEAVEN, and the sight thereof to all the earth;

Da 4:22 It [is] thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and REACHETH UNTO HEAVEN, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

Ge 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood CRIETH UNTO ME FROM THE GROUND.

Re 18:5 For her sins have REACHED UNTO HEAVEN, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

ASCENDING AND DESCENDING: SALVATION AND JUDGMENT ON BABYLON?

Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ASCENDED up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

Eph 4:9 (Now that he ASCENDED, what is it but that he also DESCENDED first into the lower parts of the earth?

Re 7:2 And I saw another angel ASCENDING from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

Ex 19:18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD DESCENDED UPON IT in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

Pr 30:4 Who hath ASCENDED UP INTO HEAVEN, or DESCENDED? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what [is] his name, and what [is] his son’s name, if thou canst tell?

AC 10:11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel DESCENDING unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

AC 10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

SUMMARY CONCLUSION: God appears to be relating ascending and descending on the Son of Man to the Gospel of judgment and salvation. Him DESCENDED to the lower parts of the earth to point to the sacrifice of His death caused by the CHURCH and ASCENDING, seems to point to the redemption that is provided through that sacrifice.
