Doing the Will of God
Could Doing the Will of God in the context of Heb 10:36 be pointing to the Elect being patient in tribulation?
DOING THE WILL OF GOD: ELECT ENDURING TRIBULATION?
Heb 10:36 For ye have need of patience <5281>, that, after ye have done the **will of God**, ye might receive the promise.
Ro 2:7 To them who by patient continuance <5281> in **well doing** seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Ro 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that TRIBULATION worketh patience <5281>;
2Co 6:4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience <5281>, in AFFLICTIONS, in necessities, in distresses,
ENDURING TO THE END: ELECT EXERCISING PATIENCE IN TRIBULATION?
Mr 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure <5278> unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Ro 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient <5278> in TRIBULATION; continuing instant in prayer;
2Ti 2:12 If we suffer <5278>, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
Heb 10:32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured <5278> a great FIGHT OF AFFLICTIONS;
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured <5278> the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Mt 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and TAKE UP HIS CROSS, and follow me.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure <5278> CHASTENING, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:11 Now no CHASTENING <3809> for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement <3809>, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are CHASTENED of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth <5278> TEMPTATION: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Jas 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure <5278>. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
1Pe 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and SUFFER for it, ye take it patiently <5278>, this is acceptable with God.
THE WILL OF GOD: TO ABSTAIN FROM FORNICATION IN TRIBULATION?
1Th 4:3 For this is the **will of God**, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
Eph 6:5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
Eph 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, **doing the will of God** from the heart;
1Pe 2:15 For so is the will of God, that with **well doing** ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
1Pe 4:19 Wherefore let them that SUFFER according to **the will of God** commit the keeping of their souls to him in **well doing**, as unto a faithful Creator.
1Jo 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth **the will of God** abideth for ever.
1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is **the will of God** in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience <5281> the RACE <73> that is set before us,
1Ti 6:12 Fight the good FIGHT <73> of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
2Ti 4:7 I have fought a good FIGHT <73>, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
1Co 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a RACE run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
SUMMARY CONCLUSION
The Bible appears to be associating doing the will of God with the believers’patience in TRIBULATION. The theme of the Bible, it seems, is that the Elect had to endure, tribulation and be submissive at the time when God gave the church over to antichrists. Then after having done the will of God (enduring tribulation) they receive the prize when Christ is revealed to them, through the Bible.
