Paying Double

Does the language of double payment relate to God's judgment on the Church?

NUMBER TWO: JUDGMENT AND SALVATION ON THE BODY OF CHRIST?

Mr 6:7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by TWO and TWO; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

DOUBLE: REWARD FOR WICKNESS – RECOMPENSING THE WORK OF THEIR HANDS?

Ex 22:4 If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double (come under judgment?).

Ex 22:7 If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.

Re 18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double <1362> according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double <1362>.

Mt 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more <1362> the child of hell than yourselves.

DOUBLE: JUDGMENT ESTABLISHED BY GOD AND SHORTLY TO COME TO PASS?

Ge 41:32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

Nu 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

DOUBLE – SALVATION: ELECT RECEIVING DOUBLE REWARD FROM BABYLON?

Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

De 15:18 It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.

SUMMARY CONCLUSION

Double appears to relate to the price the thieves (babylon) had to pay for the evil work of their hands. Double seems to convey the gospel: God rewards Babylon double (judgment) for her sins and believers coming out of Babylon are said to receive from her double (redeemed). Also since the number TWO can refer to the church, Paying Double would point to judgment on the BODY of Christ: A double judgment that was established by God and would shortly come to pass.
