Denying the Resurrection

Is it possible that those who deny the resurrection (Lu 20:27) was pointing to the Church denying Christ in tribulation?

DENYING THE RESURRECTION: DENYING CHRIST?

1Co 15:12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection <386> of the dead <3498>?

1Co 15:13 But if there be no resurrection <386> of the dead <3498>, then is Christ not risen: (If one denies the future resurrection are they also denying the historical?)

1Co 15:14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

Ac 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Ac 23:8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

Ac 17:32 And when they heard of the resurrection <386> of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

Ps 35:16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

Ge 21:9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.

Lu 20:27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection <386>; and they asked him,

2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Lu 20:34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

Lu 20:35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

Mr 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

Mr 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of HIS coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

(In other words: where is Christ, where is the resurrection?)

Joh 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

2Ti 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Pr 23:29-30 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?... They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.

1Ti 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science <1108> falsely so called:

Lu 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge <1108>: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

2Ti 2:17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

2Ti 2:18 Who concerning the truth (Christ, the resurrection) have erred, saying that the resurrection <386> is past <1096> already; and overthrow the faith of some.

THOSE WHO ERR CONCERNING THE TRUTH:

2Ti 2:17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

2Ti 2:18 Who concerning the truth (Christ, the resurrection) have erred <795>, saying that the resurrection <386> is past <1096> already; and overthrow the faith of some.

1Ti 1:6 From which some having swerved <795> have turned aside unto vain jangling;

1Ti 1:20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Mt 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Heb 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

Jas 5:19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth (Christ), and one convert him;

SALVATION RESURRECTION: ACKOWLEDGING THAT THE RESURRECTION (CHRIST) HAS ALREADY COME?

Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the HOUR is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Lu 11:44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

Eze 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

Joh 11:43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

1Co 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Ro 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Heb 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

Mt 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

Mt 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

CONCLUSION:

The Bible appears to be equating denying the resurrection to the unsaved body denying Christ who is the Resurrection. The historical account seems to point to those denying the future coming of the Lord. Today since the resurrection is past, denying the resurrection seems to relate still to the tares who deny Christ has already come, since they may be looking for a literal resurrection?
